YOUNG Ahmadiyya Muslims from Cradley Heath, are planning to donate blood in memory of the victims of terrorist attacks in London and Pakistan.
Officers from the West Midlands anti-terrorism squad are also expected to attend Sunday’s session.
Outreach worker and assistant president of the Ahmadiyya Youth Midlands Toby Ephram said the giving of blood was to honour the victims of the 7/7 London bombings and the attacks on Ahmadiyya mosques in Lahore on May 28 2010.
He said: “We always hear of Muslims shedding blood of innocent people. Now we want more Muslims to give blood, as a sign of respect to those who have fallen in the service to their country and freedom we all enjoy.
“We have to have full respect for human life regardless or colour, creed or faith.
Mr Ephram said giving blood was the “purest form” of charity, adding: “It is a great and simple way of being of service to fellow human beings. It doesn't cost anything but could make a huge difference to so many lives.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association has organised the session with the National Blood Service at its regional centre, the Darul Barakaat Mosque in Birmingham.
Separate male and female sessions will be held to encourage more female donors.
