On 15 February 2012, the world Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad was called on by the Governor-General of Tuvalu, Sir Iakoba Italeli at the Fazl Mosque in London.
The Governor-General was also accompanied by his wife, Lady Koling Italeli and a member of staff.
Various matters pertaining to religion came under discussion during the meeting and His Holiness particularly explained about the differences in belief between Ahmadi Muslims and non-Ahmadi Muslims.
Speaking about services rendered to Islam by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, His Holiness said that the community had translated the Holy Qur’an into around 70 languages and that this task was continually progressing.
His Holiness also spoke of his visit to the Fijian Islands of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu in 2006. His Holiness mentioned how the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat had established two schools in Fiji.
His Holiness confirmed the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat’s commitment to serving humanity worldwide and in particular its humanitarian efforts in Africa.
The Governor-General briefed His Holiness about the political affairs of Tuvalu and also informed that he was in London after being called by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth for an Investiture Ceremony at Buckingham Palace to be held the following day.
