TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Head of the Bogor Immigration Office, Bambang Catur P., says the office plans to question four foreign journalists believed to have triggered an attack on an Ahmadiyah village. The questioning of the foreign nationals related to their immigration documents is scheduled for Monday.
"After receiving reports from the police, we will conduct further investigation," he said.
The Ahmadiyah settlement in Kampung Cisalada, Bogor, West Java, was attacked again on Friday. Hundreds of residents from Pasar Salasa and Kebon Kopi villages gathered in the area and started throwing things after Friday prayers.
Vice chair of the Ahmadiyah congregation, Muksin, said the attack was triggered by the arrival of several foreign journalists reporting on the settlement. The crowd blocked them from questioning the intention and purpose of their presence. Pushing and shoving ensued, which was soon followed by stoning by hundreds of people.
"At least five houses belonging to the Ahmadiyah congregation were damaged after they were stoned," said Muksin.
