Keighley’s Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) has helped with the spadework for an environmental scheme.
Eight volunteers from Keighley joined other AMYA members from across the region to plant 2,500 trees at a newly developed Dewsbury park.
The project formed part of a national tree planting initiative by the organisation, run with the Woodland Trust.
In the past month, AMYA has planted 3,900 trees, including oak, birch, willow, poplar, alder and oak.
Faheem Rahman, youth leader with Keighley AMYA, said: “Our members are absolutely delighted they had the opportunity to contribute towards improving the environment.
“Both safeguarding and beautifying the planet is an important part of our faith.”
Ian Butterfield, of Forest of Bradford, said: “Working with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association is always a pleasure. They bring plenty of enthusiasm with them.”
