The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA offers its deepest condolences and sorrows to the families and friends affected by this tragedy. As Americans, we mourn with our fellow citizens at the senseless violence and loss of life. As Muslims, we believe all human life is sacred, and that to take one life is to take all humanity. Therefore, we condemn this atrocity and call for all Americans to unite for the sake of peace and love.

Our 71 chapters around the country are immersed in prayers for the departed, and for those suffering from wounds, both physical and emotional. Our Mosque and Community Center Baitul Aman (House of Peace) in Meriden, CT, some 30 miles from Newtown, is open and available to offer support to those in need. We remain firm in our faith in God, that from God we are, and to God must we return. We pray to God Almighty to protect all mankind from harm, and to give patience and solace to those suffering from this tragedy.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, reformist and fast-growing international movement within Islam. Founded in 1889 by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian who claimed to be the metaphorical second advent of Jesus and the divine guide prophesied by the Holy prophet of Islam. The community spans more than 195 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, established in 1920, is the first American-Muslim organization.
