"A peaceful world can only be achieved if our two communities work together in promoting harmony," Nasir Jadran writes.

The Roman Catholic Church enters a new era with the election of Pope Francis. The Khalifa of Islam and head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim community congratulated the Pope, urging him to utilize his office to build peace and harmony among different faiths.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has a long history of working towards peace. The founder of the community, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, echoed lessons of peace originally preached by the Prophet Muhammad. Muhammad frequently invited Christians to interfaith dialogues, to work towards interfaith peace.

In the same spirit, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community invites Pope Francis to work with Muslims in developing global harmony. A peaceful world can only be achieved if our two communities work together in promoting harmony.
