Pakistan: Blasphemy charges dropped against Christian man on double jeopardy grounds
Javed Sahotra defence attorney of sajjad Masih filed an application u/s 265k cr pc in this court, praying that an accused cannot be triad two times in same offense.

Toba Tek Singh: October 14, 2013. (PCP) Ch. Jamil Ahmad additional sessions judge tehsil Gojra district Toba Tek Singh has discharged Sajjad Massih Gill accused of blasphemy case FIR# 80/12 under section 295 C and B PPC and section 25D of telegraph act police station of city Gojra on 30th September 2013.
Two cases of blasphemy were made against Sajjad and his ex-fiancé Roma Ilyas.. In case fir no 820/11 Sajjad was convicted life imprisonment and trial in this criminal case 80/12 had started in the court of Ch, Jamil Ahmed ASJ Gojra.
Javed Sahotra defence attorney of sajjad Masih filed an application u/s 265k cr pc in this court, praying that an accused cannot be triad two times in same offense. Javed Sahotra argued this case on strong points and argued that trial in this case against sajjad Masih will be double jeopardy and constitution of Pakistan does not allow double trial in same offense, section 403 of Cr pc is also hindrance in the way to start trial in same offense.
Ch Jamil Ahmed Additional sessions judge Gojra appreciated the Arguments of Javed Sahotra attorney and announced his judgment.
Sajjad Masih is discharged from FIR No 80/12 u/s 295b and c PPC and section 25D telegraph act .After this decision members of SDA church Pakpattan Pakistan gathered in church and prayed thanks giving prayer.
