In the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, with a local congregation in Groveport, members are required to read the book during the month, member Mirza Ahmad said. Ramadan’s start is based on lunar sightings, and his congregation plans to begin at sunset on Saturday.
“The holy Quran is the total guidance for us, for the whole life, starting from the birth of the child up until death,” he said. “All kinds of rules and regulations are mentioned so that it is actually the whole curriculum for the person. That is why it is essential for the believer to read it from beginning until the end.”
Generally, the book is divided into 30 parts, with one read or recited each day of Ramadan. Many Muslims learn Arabic and memorize the book and may read it multiple times during the month.
