In an effort to enhance students' knowledge and skills in computing, the Fiji National Provident Fund contributed five computers to Ahmadiyya Muslim College.
The fund facilitated the request from the school for computers to accommodate the high demand from students taking computer classes, and for teachers to access the Fiji education management system.
FNPF assistant general manager PRIME services Tevita Nagataleka said they were pleased to assist the school in its effort to provide a comfortable and competitive learning environment for students.
"Education is very important and these computers will assist in the learning process to empower students in their chosen fields and subjects," he said in a statement yesterday.
College principal Premila Kumar said the computers would empower students to take information technology studies seriously.
She said it would provide a foundation for students before they joined the workforce.
"It is going to put a smile on their faces when they know they have their machines in school that can help them in their research (and to get used to using a computer) it is very helpful indeed," Mrs Kumar said.
