Perspective: A caliph must at least understand the religion he claims to lead


The tragedy is that ISIS claims to be acting for Muhammad, who would cringe hearing about this organization’s deeds.

A caliph of Islam must at least understand the religion he claims to lead.

I am utterly relieved that Prime Minister Stephen Harper decided to take a firm stand against ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham), even though things are still getting worse.

ISIS is simply a smear on the face of humanity at large. The tragedy is that ISIS claims to be acting for Muhammad, who would cringe hearing about this organization’s deeds.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper said last Friday his government was looking to avoid “a prolonged quagmire” in the region, but also noted Canada’s combat campaign against ISIS could be extended to Syria if supported by that country’s government, Canada's National Post had previously reported.

  1. ISIS is a pretext for an attack on Syria. It is politically naïve to believe the US is attacking ISIS due to the enormous threat ISIS poses to the world and the USA. Similar to WMD stockpiles, ISIS is a pretext to attack yet another nation!
