The recent hostage situation in Australia that involved a self-proclaimed Muslim Imam is not the real face of Islam.

The ongoing trend of radicalization is defacing the true Islamic image, and that is not what my faith, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, represents.

To combat this issue, the youth auxiliary of the community recently held an event entitled "Islamic Solutions to Muslim Youth Radicalization," which hosted several delegates of different countries at the UN in New York.

It has also launched a "Stop the CrISIS" campaign, which condemns ISIS and seeks to curb radicalization through education.

Please join us in the fight against radical extremism through removing the source of the problem -- ignorance about the true, peaceful principles about Islam."
