Qadian, India: Jamaat Ahmadiyya convention to begin tomorrow


The annual convention, affectionately known as "Jalsa Salana", is the formal, annual gathering of the Ahmadi Muslims, first initiated by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani, founder of the community.

The three-day annual convention of Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya Qadian will begin on December 26 at Qadian.

Ahmadiyya Mission spokesperson Sheikh Mannan said, “Delegates from Pakistan, Bangladesh and 32 other countries will attend the Jalsa Salana.”

[Ahmadiyya Times] - The annual convention, affectionately known as "Jalsa Salana", is the formal, annual gathering of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at, first initiated by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani, founder of the community.

The first Jalsa Salana was held on 27, 28 and 29 December, 1891, in Qadian, India.

The total attendance at the first gathering was 75. The organizers anticipate over 20,000 participants this year.

The gathering usually spans over three days, beginning on Friday after the Friday Sermon. Typically, the flag hoisting ceremony is used to identify its commencement. [Wikipedia]
