Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Bangalore Donates Vital Equipment to Pediatric Dept of Cancer Institute on the Occasion of India's Republic Day

Continuing with their tradition of "Service To Mankind", the Bangalore chapter of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has donated vital equipment worth 1.1 Lakh Rupees to the Pediatric Department of Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, in an effort to fight Cancer among Children.

More than 100 underprivileged children between the ages of 4-14, suffering from various forms of Cancer are under treatment at the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology. Representatives of the Jamaat contacted the doctors at the institute and discussed with them their requirements in their efforts to treat the children.

The members of the community donated generously to acquire various pieces of equipment including Concentrator Double Flow, a machine that intakes atmospheric air and supplies pure Oxygen to the patients, and sets of Bone Marrow Biopsy Needles, that are used for biopsy of marrow from inside the bone. 100 sets of Chemo Port Needles were also donated for use during the treatment of children by chemotherapy, it becomes difficult and often stressful for the child to find the veins to inject. This small device is planted within the child's skin connected to a vein. As and when the Chemotherapy dosage needs to be administrated it can be easily injected via this Port needle. Each set worth 300/- Rupees.

On the occasion of India's Republic Day, 15 representatives from the community including Amir Jamaat Musaddiq Ahmad and Mubaligue Silsila Mv. Kaleem Khan assembled at the Ahmadiyya Mosque, offered prayers and left for the Hospital.

The team had a good meeting at the hospital's seminar hall with the Director Dr. K B Linge Gowda, Dr. Appaji the HOD of the Pediatric Department and other senior doctors. Portion of the Holy Quran in English was recited, then the Ahmadiyya community president introduced the community and its efforts around the world in the service of Humanity.

He also explained about His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community and his efforts in promoting Peace in societies around the world.

Hazrat Ahmad's book "World Crisis and Pathway to Peace" and the Life of Muhammad(saw) were presented to the Director and all Doctors who attended the program.

The team then visited each of the 100 children in their wards and handed the Indian National Flag and gave away packets of gifts which contained toys, stationary and sweets which brought a lot of cheer among the little ones.

Each of the 100+ packets contained gifts and Cards with these messages:
We thank Allah for giving us this wonderful opportunity to help the youngest members of our society to fight Cancer. Request your prayers for all those who have contributed and worked to make this program a success.
