The worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community extended its sympathies and condolences to the people of Nepal and the surrounding regions following the deadly earthquake on Saturday.
The devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake and numerous major aftershocks triggering a deadly avalanche on Mount Everest, have resulted in death of nearly 3,000 people so far and leaving awful destruction across the broader region.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the many families who have lost loved ones, suffered or been affected during this event," the community said in a statement released on it's press desk website.
"The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community always stands ready to help in any way required to serve humanity and those in need," the statement further stated hinting at mobilization of its disaster response teams through Humanity First organization.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, a reformist and fast growing international revival movement within Islam, is now the largest organised Muslim community globally and makes an active contribution to civic life everywhere it is established. Founded in 1889, the Community spans over 206 countries and territories with membership exceeding 160 million.
