QADIAN, India: The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community celebrated Eidul Adha here in Qadian today to mark the sacrifices offered by Patriarch prophet Abraham.
At this International Headquarter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, thousands of Muslims offered prayers at Aqsa Mosque in Qadian where Maulana Munir Ahmad Khadim Secretary of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamat in India, led the prayer.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Khadim appealed to all Muslims to follow the right path showed by the Prophet Mohammed and follow the 'sunnah' (tradition) of Prophet Ibrahim and be ready to sacrifice everything for the sake of God.
On the other hand Jathedar Sewa Singh Sekhwan Chairman ITI Board Punjab & Ex Cabinet Minister Punjab visited the Ahmadiyya Headquarter to express his Eid Greetings to the Ahmadiyya Community. On this Occasion Jarnail Singh Mahal President Municipal Committee Qadian, Balwinder Singh Mintu Bajwa also greeted the Ahmadiyya jamaat. Partap Singh Bajwa President Punjab Pardesh Congress (I), Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa MLA and Bibi Charanjeet Kaur Bajwa also extend their Eid Greetings to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
A special feast was prepared by Langar Khana (kitchen) of the Promised Messiah.
Special dishes of Pla'o, salty rice, and Zarda, sweet yellow rice, were served to the people.
Muslims offered sacrifices of animals in a mark of respect and homage, and to commemorate the sacrifices offered by Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his son Prophet Ismail to Allah. The meat from the slaughtered animal was distributed to the poor and the needy.
As the event are historically recorded, Prophet Ibrahim had offered his son Prophet Ismail to Almighty Allah. Allah had accepted His beloved Prophet's intentions of sacrifice and provided for Prophet Ibrahim a lamb for sacrifice.
