The Syrian crisis is worsening. With around 4 million Syrian refugees and 8 million internally displaced, our fellow human beings are in need of dire support. More than 100,000 Syrian civilians have lost their lives during this crisis. The recent heart-wrenching picture of toddler Aylan Kurdi has come to symbolize this great loss.

Syrian refugees comprise many faiths, and the sympathies of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community are with all these genuine seekers. America should take in Syrian refugees, simply because it is the right thing to do. This is not a liberal position as even Donald Trump has called America to accept more Syrian immigrants. We applaud President Obama’s plans to accept 10,000 refugees in 2016.

The best way for us to help right now is to donate to any of the several charity organizations helping out. A mere $100 is sufficient enough to care for an entire family.
