The 36th National Ijtema (convention) of Majlis Ansarulla, the elder's wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community - men who have attained the age of 40 - began here in Qadian today at TI Senior Secondary School Play Ground near Sarae Tahir in Civil Line Qadian.
The program began with pre-dawn Tahajud and Fajar prayers and a visit to Bahishti Maqbra Qadian.
The opening session started at 10 am where Maulana Mohammad Inam Ghori presided over the function and Qari Nawab Ahmad, national president Majlis Ansarullah Bharat was also present.
Hafiz Makhdoom Sharief, secretary publication of the Ahmadiyya community recited the Holy Quran and Maulana Mohammad Inam Ghori led the Lawae Ansar, Majlis Ansarullah flag, hoisting ceremony and led the convention delegates in silent prayers.
On this occasion Qari Nawab Ahmad national president Majlis Ansarullah read a special message of Khalifa of Islam, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad.
Syed Nasir Uddin presented the yearly report to the convention participants.
At the end of inaugural program Maulana Mohammad Inam Ghori addressed the Ansar. He said due to farmers' protests in Punjab, blocking the railway lines, railway services were badly effected and the anticipation was a lower than usual participation in National Ijtema of Majlis Ansarullah.
"But, by the Grace of Allah," Inam Ghori said, "we are wondered that a large number of Ahmadi people have come from all across India."
He said the sucess is only due to the blessings of Allah and in these three days everyone should spend our time in prayers and supplications.
