In the response to the terror attacks in Paris, the Australian Federal government held a vigil nationally to offer its deepest condolences.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association of South Australia, along with other South Australian communities, took part in the vigil on Tuesday, November 17, held at the Soldier Memorial Gardern, Unley, a suburb in the South Australian capital of Adelaide.

The community under the guidance of National President of Australia, Imam Inamul Haq Kausar, Imam Imtiaz Ahmad Naveed placed flowers under the rotunda to show condolences on behalf of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of South Australia.

Around 30 members from the community wearing Muslims For Peace shirts took part in the event which had more than 500 members of the public.

The vigil consisted of many dignitaries including speeches by the Premier of South Australia, Honourable Jay Weatherill, and the French Ambassador to Australia, His Excellency Christopher Lecourtier gave a speech.

Members of the community, led by Imam Imtiaz Ahmad, met the Ambassador and sent the community’s sincerest condolences.

Numerous interactive discussion were done between the members of the Jamaat with the staff and students.

This event well demonstrated that Australia is a country which comes together as one nation to show solidarity with those affected by the terrorist attacks.
