The event was meant to educate folks about the local Muslim community.
The campaign works to try to remove misconceptions that they say people associate with their religious head covering.
Previously, on Thursday, December 17, the group had set up a table in the foyer of Lakeland College’s Lloydminster Campus, where many women tried on hijabs and learned more about Muslim culture.
“For the past events that we have had here locally we have got a lot of support,” said Mubarika Ahmed, a spokesperson for the Amadiyya Muslim Women’s Auxiliary of Lloydminster.
