Perspective: See Islam as a religion of peace | Tasveer Khawaja

What Archer did is in no way aligned with or justified by any Islamic teachings. I, as a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, condemn his actions, as I believe all Muslims should.

Edward Archer decided it was a good idea to open fire on Officer Jesse Hartnett. He proceeded to state that he was motivated by the teachings of Islamic State, which claims that its members are followers of true Islam.

On the contrary, what Archer did is in no way aligned with or justified by any Islamic teachings. I, as a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, condemn his actions, as I believe all Muslims should.

I also would like to applaud Mayor Kenney's response, calling Archer a criminal whose actions were no reflection on Islam.

Rather than allowing instances like this to be your only exposure to "Islam," do your own research about Islam and make an informed decision. I am sure you will discover that Islam is a religion of peace.
