Members of Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya) Slough held their annual local Ijtema (convention) on Sunday January 10th 2016 at Baitul Aman Mosque in Hayes.
Khuddam (tier 1, ages 15-40) and Atfal (tier 2, ages 6-15) undertook a full day of academic activities. The Ijtema sports activities took place on December 20th last year allowing ample time for Khuddam and Atfal to take part in the academic competitions which included recitation of the Holy Quran, (Tilawat), Poem (Nazm), Prepared Speech and Call to prayers (Adhan).
The Slough chapter president, Mobashir Ahmad Tahir and vice president, Atiq Ahmad Bhatti, were invited as special guests to the Ijtema and provided support to the local youth president, Qaid, Sharf ur Rahman, throughout the day including helping judge the academics.
Vice president, Atiq Ahmad Bhatti, said the organisation of the local Slough Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Ijtema has been excellent this year and the caliber of the participants has been of a high standard. "With such an important theme being covered this year, namely, Ta’aaluq Billah (bond with God), Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Slough have once again excelled in not only their participation but overall brotherhood as they competed against each other in good works, an important commandment of Allah as stated in the Holy Quran."
"We thank Qaid [Sharf-ur-Rahman] and his organisational team and Amila (executive cabinet) for this wonderful work. Mashallah,” he added.
