A hot debate rages on in some political primaries and on prime-time talk shows about restricting Muslim immigrants or even profiling all Muslim-Americans.
Meanwhile, a cooler development has taken shape on busy street corners, at interfaith gatherings and online.
When President Barack Obama rightfully called on Muslim leaders in America to confront violent extremism “without excuse,” the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA responded by sponsoring its own campaign — including within Pittsburgh — to share with our fellow Americans at large an 11-point bulleted statement about what true Islam really stands for.
