Sri Lanka: Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation gifted to top Christian Education Institution


While narrating the story tears fell out from her eyes and went on to say that, now her son is a Civil Engineer. My family will finally read Holy Qur’an.

If you look after other's children God will look after our children – this is the words of Qur’an, declares a Buddhist Teacher

A two member delegation from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Sri Lanka (AMJSL) comprising Mr.A. Abdul Aziz, Press Secretary and National Director Faith Outreach - AMJSL and Moulavi K. Muneer Ahmad (Missionary - Pasyala), visited Christian dominated areas recently to gift Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation to Schools.

The delegation visited Don Bosco Institute in Dankottuwa and met acting Rector to gift a copy of Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation. He warmly welcomed the delegation and was recalled to him about the representation by the said Institute to the Peace Symposium organized by Sri Lanka Ahmadiyya Muslim community in 2012.

He was told about the current state of Islamic World and the tireless efforts being made by the Khalifa and the Ahmadiyya worldwide leader, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, by spreading the true teachings of Islam through various means, particularly addressing lawmakers at Capitol Hill, EU Parliament, in Ireland Parliament, and recently the Dutch Parliament. He was informed about the gist of His Holiness' address during the recent Dutch Parliament visit.

He was also made to know about the service of humanity being rendered by Ahmadiyya community through HUMANITY FIRST and the Assistant rector showed his willingness to work together for the betterment of human welfare.

The delegation met Ms. H.N. Indirani, Principal, Sri Sanghabodhi Elementary School, Dankottuwa to gift Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation. While the conversation with her, the principal recalled an incident took place in her life some twenty years before. She said once her son at the age of seven, failed to do home work and was punished hard by the school teacher. A school staff informed this matter to this Principal H.N. Indirani who was at the time also working as a teacher in that particular school. She was told, Indirani, you are working hard for other children in the school whereas your own child is being treated hardly.

The Principal Indirani said she took the story to her husband (A Principal in a School) and her husband immediately responded by saying that if you look after other's children God will look after our children – this is the words of Qur’an.

While narrating the story tears fell out from her eyes and went on to say that, now her son is a Civil Engineer. My family will finally read Holy Qur’an, she expressed.

The delegation met Ms. Rohini, Principal, Kochchikade Maha Vidyalaya to gift Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation. She warmly welcomed the delegation and said her school is always open for the Ahmadiyya Community and sought help for the books to the school library.

The delegation visited St. Anne’s Maha Vidyalaya, Daluwakottuwa, Loyola college, Daluwakottuwa, Wennappuwa Girls’ High School, Dankottuwa, Sri Sanghabodhi Central College, Dankottuwa, Gonselvez Maha Vidyalaya, Bolawatte, St. Mary’s Maha Vidyalaya, Waikale and Holy  Family Girls’ School, Wennappuwa.

The  delegation finally visited St. Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa – a leading famous School and gifted Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation.

To all of them, along copy of the Sinhala Translation of the Holy Qur’an with some other literatures including Peace Messages in English as well as Sinhala were presented. Moreover, the Sinhala Translation of the book ‘The Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam’ written by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad – Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Islam, also presented.
