Nigeria: Ahmadiyya 2016 Youths All African Games underway

Muslim youths across the world have been urged to continue to to preach peace and to be good ambassadors of the religion wherever they are.

The leader of the Ahmaddiya Muslim Jamat in Nigeria, stated this while welcoming participants from different parts of the world to the Ahmadi Youths All African games, held at Dipo Dina stadium, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, Nigeria.

He said the youth holds the key to the future and must come together to fight a common enemy by promoting peace through sports.

Organiser of the event, the male youth wing of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Nigeria also known as Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Nigeria (MKAN) disclosed on Saturday that the event feature seven games - football, athletics, volleyball, taekwando, table tennis and scrabble with participants drawn from 20 African countries and beyond.

During the period, peace trek, excursions, visitations to the paramount ruler of ijebu land, governor of Ogun state and other prominent religious leaders, capacity development programmes and award nights have been put together to make the event most memorable for the 100 years celebration of Ahmadiyya Muslim peaceful propagation of Islam in Nigeria since 1916 to 2016.
