Sri Lanka: Ahmadiyya Delegation Invited to Cabinet Sub-Committee Meeting at Parliament
All politicians should be taught about the beautiful teachings of each religions and thus try to create a religious harmony within the nation.

Ahmadiyya Delegation invited to Cabinet sub Committee on Implementation of suitable programs to Ensure the Sri Lankan Identity at Sri Lankan Parliament.
A three member delegation from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Sri Lanka (AMJSL) comprising Mr.A. Abdul Aziz, Press Secretary and National Director Faith Outreach – AMJSL, Moulavi A.B. Musthaq Ahmad (Chief Missionary - AMJSL) and Mr. S. Nizam Khan (President, Colombo (AMJSL) attended at a Meeting organized by Ministry of National Co-Existence, Dialogue and Official Languages. The event was chaired by Honorable Minister Sarath Amunugama, Minister of Special assignment and held at Praliament Complex on 26 February 2016.
Religious dignitaries from Buddhism, Christianity, Islam and Hinduism attended this meeting which is termed as Cabinet sub Committee on Implementation of suitable programs to Ensure the Sri Lankan Identity.
In this meeting some verbal suggestions were put forward by religious representatives including non-ahmadis. However, only the Ahmadiyya delegation had the opportunity to submit its proposals and suggestions in written form and handed over to Secretary to the Ministry of National Co-Existence, Dialogue and Official Languages.
In this document, a brief introduction about the Ahmadiyya Jama’at was mentioned. It went on to say that the real patriotism lies only if deeds go in parallel with admonishment. Islam teaches each and every Muslims tongue and hand being a source of safe for other citizens. All politicians should be taught about the beautiful teachings of each religions and thus try to create a religious harmony within the nation.
The Ahmadiyya document further pointed out that there is no compulsion in religion and therefore there should be equal right to all citizens to practice their own belief. The religious lessons in school syllabus should not have any portion that creates wrong notion against any particular sect or faith, the document added. Ahmadiyya document goes on to say that without any discrimination rights should be given to all faiths to express their views through state and private media in the country.
This is the first ever representation by the Ahmadiyya Jam’at in a Committee organized by the Government at Sri Lankan Parliament. Alhamdhulillah.
