Muslims in North Texas are calling on Sen. Ted Cruz, R-TX, to retract and reconsider his opinions on 'patrolling and securing' Muslim neighborhoods.

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-TX, responded to the Brussels terror attacks and set off a firestorm on social media Tuesday.
In a statement, Cruz said, "We need to empower law enforcement to patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods before they become radicalized."
Now, Muslim groups in North Texas are calling on Cruz to retract his statements.
"We request that he reconsider his opinion because that is something which is going to divide people, and this is not how we confront the terrorism," said Suhail Kausar, president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
