PORT HOPE - The peace and love the world needs so badly today is elusive.
The only way to attain this goal, according to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, is for everyone to respect each other's difference and come together on common grounds with love for humanity and, of course, love for all founders of religions.
This belief will be the subject of the Love For All Prophets open house the group is holding Saturday afternoon at Port Hope Public Library.
“Prophets and founders of religions — such as Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, Krishna, Buddha, to name a few — must all be respected in order to bring people together on a single platform, the platform of establishing a great level of peace in this world,” the group's press release stated.
“In Islam, one of the pillars for a Muslim is to believe and love all prophets. The respect and embracement of all founders of religions is a big step forward towards establishment of peace taught by the Holy Quran. It creates tolerance and builds understanding amongst people.”
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association is a auxiliary organization of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, whose motto is Love For All, Hatred For None. Their Love For All Prophets open house is an attempt to further this goal.
The event runs from 1 to 4 p.m. at the library, which is located at 31 Queen St.
“We ask the residents of Port Hope to come to the open house and show their respect for all founders of religions, create religious harmony and take a step forward towards a more peaceful world,” the invitation stated.
