The Ameer and Missionary-in-Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Maulvi Alhaj Noor Mohammed Bin Salih has concluded a three day tour of selected Ahmadi communities in the Eastern Region from 12th to 14th of May, 2016 during which he commissioned new mosques in Tabita near Akim Oda, Ettukrom near Bonsu, New Abirem near Nkawkaw and Somanya.

Prior to Ameer’s tour, members of the youth chapters in their respective Circuits worked around the clock on the new mosques and most of the work was done through waqar-e-amal (a self-help system signified with words 'Dignity in Labour'), which saved the community lots of money.

From the start of the mosque projects, members of the Ahmadiyya youth wing, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, who were masons, carpenters, electricians, chainsaw operators, steel benders, welders, painters, etc and other professionals were called upon to ensure that the mosques were completed in time for a befitting commissioning. Tasks such as painting, wiring, leveling of uneven land, planting of hedges, partitioning of mosques were all done by the members.

At Tabita, for example, two foot bridges were constructed using local materials in preparation for the commissioning.

During Ameer’s tour, members of the youth chapters, including the younger auxiliary members, Atfal, came out in their numbers well dressed in their uniforms to ensure that security for the Ameer and his entourage and the entire membership was not compromised. They also provided hospitality services serving water, drinks and food to dignitaries and members alike.

On the occasion of the commissioning, Maulvi Bin Salih urged Ahmadi Muslims to fulfil the rights of a mosque by populating it to offer their prayers and lead exemplary lives that reflect the teachings of Islam so that people would be attracted to join the folds of Islam.

In the Friday sermon delivered by the Ameer Maulvi Bin Salih at New Abirem, he advised Ahmadi youths to be worthy ambassadors of peace before, during and after the impending national elections.

The Regional President, Alhaj Mustapha Oti Boateng and the Regional Missionary, Maulvi Mubarak Ahmad Adil commended the Khuddam (youth members) for their organisational skills.

More than 150 Khuddam and 70 Atfal served in the commissioning ceremonies.
