Pakistan: Ahmadi man shot dead in Karachi


His friend -- who was not Ahmadi -- was also shot in his legs when he rushed to pick him up. He underwent surgery and is in reported in stable condition now.

An Ahmadi man. Dawood Ahmad, son of Haji Ghulam Mohiuddin, has been killed in a targeted attack in Pakistani port city of Karachi today, it is reported.

According to Ahmadiyya spokesperson, Saleemud Din, unknown gunmen shot 55-year old Ahmad around 9 pm last evening in Gulzar-e Hijri while he was waiting for a friend outside his home.

Reportedly victim was struck with 3 bullets.

Ahmad was shifted to Liaqat National Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries today.

His friend -- who was not Ahmadi -- was also shot in his legs when he rushed to make a rescue attempt and pick up Ahmad from ground. He underwent surgery and is in reported in stable condition now.

Dawood Ahmad is survived by 3 sons. His wife had died a few years ago due to cancer.
