This article on Memorial Day emphasises on Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's stance on loyalty to one's country of residence.
Yes, martyrs never die! The memory of their valor is honored forever and the nations who realize the significance of such sacrifices never die either. Every drop of blood spilt inspires new valor in those left behind.
Memorial Day is celebrated every year as a fun filled day full of celebration and ceremonies to commemorate brave American soldiers who, despite the knowledge that nobody can fill their shoes for their family and friends left behind, still marched on.
The love for one’s homeland supersedes all else, as it runs in our veins. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught the world that love of one’s country of residence is part of faith. It means that even with the world shrinking into a global village, whichever part of the world shelters you, you owe your loyalty and love to it.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, which believes that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian is the long-awaited Messiah for all people, has been facing religious persecution since last forty years. This persecution led many Ahmadi Muslims to flee their country of origin and to find new homelands in various parts of the world.
Following the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, the head of the Community, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad says,
“As citizens of any country, we Ahmadi Muslims will always show absolute love and loyalty to the State. Every Ahmadi Muslim has a desire for his chosen country to excel and should always endeavor towards this objective. Whenever the country requires its citizens to make sacrifices the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will always be ready to bear such sacrifices for the sake of the nation.”As American Ahmadi Muslims, we are proud and grateful for the religious freedom offered here and are duly bound to repay the country with our loyalty.
God bless America!
