(TOA: Aguascalientes is the capital of the state of Aguascalientes and is its most populous city, with a metropolitan population of 1,000,000. It is located in North-Central Mexico.)

Aguascalientes, Ags. - Imam Azhar Goraya, accompanied by two members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat of Mexico, visited Aguascalientes "in order to teach and answer questions about Islam and to bring a message of peace and love, which are really the teachings of Islam, "said our interviewee.

In brief chat with the Imam (leader or pastor) Azhar, he said that he and his team have traveled several states of the Mexican Republic, to give informal lectures where people can clear your doubts and learn about Islam.

He explained that his Ahmadiyya Muslim community has three mosques in the country, in Mexico City, one in Chiapas and the third in Merida, Yucatan, with a small membership of about 200 people.

He said he knew that there is a small Muslim community of no more than 20 people and they have a prayer center in this state, but he does not belong to their community and have had little contact with them in Aguascalientes.

"Our job is to teach Islam, to invite people to the religion of Islam and to improve their life through these teachings, to fulfill the rights of God through Islam, so if someone wants to convert, we will try to help that person in their journey to God, "said the Imam.

He acknowledged that one of the concerns that most people have with respect to Islam and especially towards Muslims is that they are considered extremists and linked to terrorist activities, but "the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (as there are several communities in the world), is the leading Islamic organization to categorically rejects terrorism in all its forms. More than a century ago, Ahmad, the founder, emphatically declared a jihad by the sword and aggression has no place in Islam."

He noted that unfortunately the media does not show other face of Muslims, as a very small number of them using the name of Islam to carry out terrorist acts. "The majority of Muslims do not support these acts ...  we will continue working, clarifying doubts and teaching true Islam."

He noted that this community is different from with other communities in that it is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited Messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas (1835-1908) of Qadian. Ahmad claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad. They believe that God sent Ahmad, like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and restore morality, justice and peace.

Azhar Goraya said that the first talk was held in Aguascalientes last Thursday and 11 interested people came together on the issue, and he expect a similar number during the subsequent two days in which they will continue the activity at a hotel in Cologne City Council.
