"Return to thy Lord well-pleased with Him and He well-pleased with thee"
Imam Mohammed Zafarullah of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's Baitul Hameed Mosque in Chino, California, accompanied by several members of his congregation, attended a meeting of Heavenly Culture World Peace Restoration of Light (HWPL) at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), on Saturday, May 21st, 2016.
Many speakers from different religious followings (Including Sikhism, Islam, Christianity and Cao Dai shared their points of view on the topic of discussion, which was, the importance of the Inner Self versus the Outer Self. The consensus from most of the speakers was that the Inner Self was more important that the Outer.
Imam Zafarullah presented the Islamic perspective of the “Self” explaining that mankind was raised for the main purpose of praising Allah and living a selfless life in the community in peace and harmony with all religions and doing good deeds. Imam explained that true Muslims are involved in community work feeding the hungry, taking care of the elders and sick people and showing kindness to all humanity.
Islam is a Religion of peace and the individual can attain this firstly by remembering Allah in all his actions and deeds. For example, Imam explained, an individual may begin every action extolling the name of God and perform good deeds while remembering Allah.
Imam Zafarullah remarked that if a deed is done in the name of Allah and because of him then the reward from God is multi-fold in comparison to the deed done without the remembrance of Allah.
Mankind, Imam Zafarullah said, must therefore strive to reach high goals in spiritualism which is attained by worshiping God, accompanied by good actions and deeds.
Concluding his address, Imam Zafarullah quoted (in Arabic) verses of the Qur’an Chatper 90 Al Balad, verses 28 to 31 which are translated as follows:
28. And thou, O soul at peace!
29. Return to thy Lord well-pleased with Him and He well-pleased with thee
30. So enter thou among My chosen servants
31. And, enter thou My Garden.
