The greatest boxer of all time and famed humanitarian Muhammad Ali passed away on June 4 due to respiratory complications.
As a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, I express my deepest condolences to the friends and family. I pray that his soul may be at rest.
At this time, I also stress that Ali represented many values that we as Ahmadi Muslims cherish, especially standing for what is right despite the consequences.
Ali, in a statement addressing Donald Trump's proposed ban on Muslims entering the country said, "There is nothing Islamic about killing innocent people."
He also said, "True Muslims know that the ruthless violence of so-called Islamic jihadists goes against the very tenets of our religion."
