Terrorism: Ahmadi Muslims world over repeat their calls for prayers, unity

Once again I have to explain to my children that evil has no limits. And as before, I remind them to pray for the souls of the departed, for their families and for humanity.

Tragedy after tragedy

The tragedy in Nice, France, is unthinkable. As an Ahmadi Muslim living in Orange County, submitting opinion pieces to this publication condemning the perverted actions of barbaric terrorists has become an unfortunate routine now. Yet again my family and friends will be referencing my “latest letter” and sharing in my grief over the misrepresentation of a faith I hold so dear. Once again I have to explain to my children that evil has no limits. And as before, I remind them to pray for the souls of the departed, for their families and for humanity. And come tomorrow, a patient will bring in a clipping of this letter, encouraging me to keep writing “because it’s the right thing to do.”

As an Ahmadi Muslim, I pray for the day when these letters become unnecessary, when the only news of Islam we read is of love, tolerance and peaceful coexistence as professed by Muhammad. Until then, I thank this publication for allowing some space for the voice of true Islam to be heard. It’s a voice that I share with a billion other fellow Muslims around the world, which says that we will not let the actions of these cowards hijack our faith.

An Australian Ahmadi Muslim calls for all moderates to unite

As a proud Australian Ahmadiyya Muslim, I condemn the horrific terror attacks in Nice in the strongest possible terms. As a society, we must not allow any group to use such horrific events to further their political agenda and create further division. All moderates must unite for a truly cohesive society.
