Perspective: Extremists make life hell for ordinary Muslims | Ehsan Ullah Malhi

Why are his actions merciless? The fact is, people such as Ishsas Khan do more harm to Islam and Muslims than Islamophobes do.

I condemn the apparent Islamic State-inspired stabbing in Sydney but also want to pose questions to the alleged attacker who you report shouting: “You killed my brothers and sisters in Iraq.” Why are the attacker’s brothers and sisters killing their other brothers and sisters in Iraq and Syria?

Why is he making the lives of Muslims such as myself a hell here? Every time an attack occurs, I have to explain the perpetrator’s actions are not Islamic. So what good has this man’s alleged actions done other than make us Muslims labelled as terrorists and mocked for it?

How does killing an innocent person in Australia bring peace for any brothers and sisters in Iraq? What sort of Islam does he believe in? Why are his actions merciless? The fact is, people such as Ishsas Khan do more harm to Islam and Muslims than Islamophobes do.
