The Ahmadiyya Muslim Women Association Georgia Chapter will hold its Muslims for Life blood drive in partnership with the Suwanee Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saturday.
The purpose of the event is to strengthen the relationships between the organizations and “to reinforce the idea of sanctity of life that both communities proudly adhere to,” said Naseer Humayun, an association spokeswoman.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA started the blood drive campaign on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 to honor lives lost, Humayun said. The blood drive will take place from 1 to 6 p.m.
This blood drive will be followed by a presentation by the faith-based nonprofit Noah’s Ark & Co. from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Based in Suwanee, its goal is to partner with and educate faith leaders on disaster preparedness.
The presentation is the first series of Noah’s Ark & Co. Know Your Neighbor events. Presenters from the Islamic faith and Mormon religion will share their beliefs.
The events will take place the church on 4833 Suwanee Dam Road. For more information, visit www.muslimsforlife.org and www.preparemychurch.org.
