Last week, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community CT joined over 70 Chapters of America's oldest and largest Islamic Organization, along with the worldwide Community, unified behind one spiritual leader, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, 5th Successor of Messiah Ahmad and Khalifa of Islam, in commemorating the annual Promised Messiah Day. With prayers, togetherness, and self-reformation, Baitul Aman “House of Peace” Mosque in Meriden celebrated the modest but revolutionary founding of a new epoch in Islamic history on March, 23rd, 1889 under Divine guidance by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, India, the Promised Messiah of the latter age and Imam Mahdi, Guided Leader.

It was 128 years ago on that auspicious day that Messiah Ahmad accepted the faithful hands of 40 righteous servants in spiritual allegiance outlined in the Ten Conditions of Bai’at, Initiation. One such key condition identifies our duty to others; “That he/she shall keep himself/herself occupied in the service of God's creatures for His sake only; and shall endeavor to benefit mankind to the best of his/her God-given abilities and powers.” The metaphysical Ark of the heavenly Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, a light-giving minaret that emanated from the east of Damascus and a healing for the global deluge of ungodliness and darkness was constructed under Divine directive. This seemingly unassuming bedrock for the reformation of humanity was foretold by Allah in the Holy Quran and through Prophet Muhammad as well as countless Sacred Scriptures and Religious Founders like Jesus son of Mary, Buddha, Laozi, Moses, Zoroaster, etc.

“For as lightning cometh from the east and shineth unto the west, so shall the coming of the son of man be.” (Math.24:27)

“And among others from among them who have not yet joined them. He is the Mighty, the Wise.” (Holy Quran Chapter 62 : Verse 4)
Abu Hurairah, a prominent companion of Prophet Muhammad relates: One day we were sitting with The Holy Prophet when this chapter Al Jumu'ah (62) was revealed. I enquired from Muhammad. Who are the people to whom the words "and among others of them who have not yet joined them" refer? Salman, the Persian was sitting among us. The Holy Prophet put his hand on Salman and said; “If faith were to go up to the Pleiades, a man from among these would surely find it” (Bukhari).

“And remember when Jesus, son of Mary, said, ‘O children of Israel, surely I am Allah’s Messenger unto you, fulfilling that which is before me of the Torah, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me. His name will be Ahmad.’ And when he came to them with clear proofs, they said, ‘This is clear enchantment’.” (Holy Quran Chapter 61 : Verse 7)

“And remember when We took from the Prophets their covenant, and from thee (O Muhammad), and from Noah, and Abraham, and Moses, and Jesus, son of Mary, and We indeed took from them a solemn covenant;” (Holy Quran 33:8)
“And remember the time when Allah took a covenant from the people through the Prophets, saying: ‘Whatever I give you of the Book and Wisdom and then there comes to you a Messenger, fulfilling that which is with you, you shall believe in him and help him.’ And He said: ‘Do you agree, and do you accept the responsibility which I lay upon you in this matter?’ They said, ‘We agree;’ He said, ‘Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses.’” (Holy Quran 3:82)

"When you see him (Imam Mahdi) then certainly perform bait to him even if you have to crawl over your knees through the mountains of snow because he (Imam Mahdi) will be the Khalifa of God." Hadith of Prophet Muhammad, Mastadarrak Hakim Kitab al-Fitn Wal Malaham Chapter Khuroojal Mahdi.

"One who obeyed Imam Mahdi obeyed me, one who disobeyed him disobeyed me." Hadith of Prophet Muhammad, Biharul Anwaar Vol. 13 p17.

"For our Mahdi (Divine Reformer) there are two signs which have never appeared before since the creation of the heavens and the earth, namely the moon will be eclipsed on the first night in Ramazan (i.e. on the first of the nights on which a lunar eclipse can occur) and the sun will be eclipsed in its middle (i.e. on the middle day of the days on which a solar eclipse can occur), and these signs have not appeared since God created the heavens and the earth." Hadith of Prophet Muhammad, Dare Qutani Vol 1, page 188.

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.” (Math. 24:29) This sign was fulfilled in March and April of 1894 and again in 1895.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community celebrated the fulfillment of renowned ancient prophecies in the personage of their Messianic and Prophetic founder Ahmad, his spiritual Khalifas, and through their progressive Community which today spans over 208 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. Since its inception, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has waged the true Islamic jihad of reconnecting and reestablishing a living relationship with our Unified Creator as well as rendering compassionate service to all of God’s creation, regardless of background. Like his beloved spiritual father and Preceptor, Prophet Muhammad, Messiah Ahmad demonstrated in practice how to dispel ignorance, extinguish hatred, prevent wars, bridge divides and resurrect spirituality, peace, justice, and love for all. Despite mounting opposition and vehement persecution, we yet endure as Islam’s foremost Community to boldly combat terrorism and are the fastest growing Muslim Organization in the world, as was prophesied in the words “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you, and ye shall be hated of all nations for my names sake. (Math.24:9)”; “But there shall not a hair on your head perish. (Luke 21:12, 16,17,18)”. Under the leadership of Islamic Khilafat, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has now built over 16,000 mosques, over 500 schools, and over 30 hospitals. It has translated the Holy Quran into over 70 languages. It propagates the true teachings of Islam and the message of peace and tolerance through a twenty-four hour satellite television channel (MTA), the Internet (alislam.org) and print (Islam International Publications). The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has been at the forefront of worldwide disaster relief through an independent charitable organization, Humanity First.

Purpose of the advent of the Messiah in Messiah Ahmad's own words; “The age of the Promised Messiah has this special characteristic that in the ancient scriptures and Ahadith, oral traditions of Prophet Muhammad, it is recorded that at the time of his advent, this spread of spirituality will reach a degree in which women will also receive Divine revelation, and minor children will be able to prophesy, and the common people will speak with the power of the Holy Spirit. All this will be a manifestation of the spirituality of the Promised Messiah.” Messiah Ahmad, Daruratul- Imam, pp. 4-5, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 13, pp. 474-475.

Let us continue to unite in goodness amid rising intolerance to actualize our motto "Love for all, hatred for none". Locally, we also welcomed and embraced a new member who initiated into the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community on Promised Messiah Day.

Join us for free Coffee, Cake and Conversation every Friday night at 8 pm in our Ahmadiyya Baitul Aman “House of Peace” Mosque.

About Ahmadiyya Muslim Community & Connecticut Chapter:

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, reformist and fast-growing international movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, the Community spans more than 200 nations with membership exceeding tens of millions. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, established in 1920, is among the first American-Muslim organizations and the largest united under one spiritual leader.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long- awaited Messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) of Qadian, India. Ahmad claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the founder of Islam, Prophet Muhammad. The Community believes that God sent Ahmad, like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and reinstitute morality, justice, and peace. Ahmad's advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival and moderation. He divested Muslims of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam's true and essential teachings. The worldwide Community is lead today by its peace-loving spiritual head Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the fifth Successor of the Messiah and Khalifa of Islam.

The Connecticut Chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA was established in the late 1980's under the leadership of its founding President Manzur Mannan. Its Mosque in Meriden was purchased in 2007, and was named Baitul Aman "House of Peace" by its current international leader Mirza Masroor Ahmad. In June 2016, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Meriden, Connecticut was awarded the United States Attorney's Office National Security and Major Crimes Unit Award by the United States Attorney Deirdre M. Daly and Department of Justice. This was under the leadership of Dr. Mohammed Qureshi for the "courage, leadership, and tremendous generosity of spirit" in an exemplary response of compassion to the shootings its Mosque sustained in November 2015.
