Sri Lanka: Central Province Chief Minister and Governor Presented With Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation


"I command your noble task, as I am in search of such a Holy Book in a complete form." remarks Governor of Central Province.

A four member delegation from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Sri Lanka (AMJSL) comprising Mr.A. Abdul Aziz, Press Secretary and National Director Faith Outreach – AMJSL; Moulavi A.B. Musthaq Ahmad – Chief Missionary AMJSL; Moulavi K.M. Munir Ahmad, Missionary – Pasyala; and Javid Raheem, Murabbi Silsila, visited Kandy – capital of Central Province  of Sri Lanka recently.

The delegation visited Vihara Mahadevi Balika Maha Vidyalaya and was warmly welcomed by Mrs. Hapughama, the Principal. She appeared very incentive to what the delegation had to say.

The delegation briefed about the community and highlighted the tireless efforts being made by the Khalifa and the Ahmadiyya worldwide leader, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, in spreading the true teachings of Islam through various means, particularly addressing lawmakers at Capitol Hill, EU Parliament, in Ireland Parliament, the Dutch Parliament and New Zealand Parliament to name a few.

The delegation also briefed the Principal about the system of leadership in Islam after the demise of Prophet of Islam Muhammad (PBUH) and its re-establishment in Ahmadiyya Community. The delegation further pointed out about the unique feature of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and said that this is the only Community which has Spiritual Leadership and termed as ““ONE COMMUNITY – ONE LEADER’.

They added that the Community’s motto is ’LOVE FOR ALL; HATRED FOR NONE’.

On hearing about the translation of Holy Qur’an into 76 languages by the Ahmadiyya Community, the Principal said that she will read the Qur’an before it goes to school library.

Then the delegation visited Governor’s Office of the Central Province and met Honorable Niluka Ekanayake, Governor of Central Province. She was very pleased to receive the Ahmadiyya delegation and commanded the noble task of translating Holy Qur’an into Sinhala Translation.

She said: "For the last sixteen years, I am in search of such a Holy Book in a complete form." The Governor, on hearing the Ahmadiyya Jama’at motto: Love For all: Hatred for None, she described as a wonderful one. The Governor was also presented the Peace Message and the book – World Crisis and Pathway To Peace – A compilation of addresses by the Ahmadiyya Khalifa, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, in various Parliament. An official from the Governor Office showed interest to have a copy of the Qur’an, and was presented one.

The delegation visited Chief Minister’s office and met Honorable Sarath Ekanayake, Chief Minister of Central Province. On accepting the copy of Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation, he said, "Alhamdhulillah".

The delegation visited schools namely Mahanama College and Pushpadhana Girls’ College in Kandy.
