UK: Traffic delays to worsen for Jalsa Salana on Sunday due to lane closures at Shepherd-Flock roundabout

Around 38,000 people from 100 countries have descended on Hadeeqatul Mahdi - formerly Oaklands Farm - near East Worldham for Jalsa Salana, the 51st annual convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

“Works will take place one lane at a time so that a maximum of one lane will
be closed at any one time.”

Virgin Media will close a lane of the A31 on Sundays July 30, August 6, 13, 20 and 27 as part of its ultrafast broadband roll-out in north Farnham.

Traffic delays are likely as a result, especially on July 30 when it will clash with the final day of the annual Jalsa Salana gathering of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community near Alton.

A Virgin Media spokesman told the Herald: “The works are necessary to connect the north of Farnham to the ultrafast Virgin Fibre network (which offers speeds three times as fast as BT and Sky).

“Works will take place one lane at a time so that a maximum of one lane will be closed at any one time.”
