KUNINGAN - The Director General of Democracy and Civil Registry (Dukcapil) Kemendagri, Zudan Arif Fakrullah confirmed that Ahmadiyah residents in Manis Lor village, Jalaksana sub-district, Kuningan district, will soon be given electronic ID card (E-KTP).

However, the religious column on ID card for Ahmadiyahs will be left blank unless they have 'officially converted to Islam.'

"We will issue E-ID cards to all Ahmadiyah residents in Manis Lor Kuningan who are now coming forward and everything is in process.'

On an ID card, Zudan Arif Fakrullah said, if an applicant is a Muslim it will state Islam in the religion column, but, for Ahmadiyya, it will remain blank.

"That is the [only] option now," Zudan told a number of media outlets after attending a special plenary session in the parliament building on Monday (4/9).

Zudan said the Population Administration Act (Adminduk) allows writing of only one of the six religions in KTP. "Any other religions outside of that should be left blank, but still noted in the database."

"There are only six religions, namely Islam, Christianity, Catholicism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Confucianism, that is to be written in the religion column on the ID field. But beyond these beliefs, for example, Ahmadiyah, Pangestu, Sapto Darmo, Sunda Wiwitan, should only be written in the database, but ID card be emptied," Zudan stressed.

According to Zudan, religious belief is the right of society, the government only gives identity card. "We do not judge whether Ahmadiyah is a religion or not, that is the domain of religious experts. We only write on of the six religions that there are. Outside it should not be written. It's really simple, we follow the state law, the six religions," advises Zudan.
