"They have suggested palliative care."
Washington DC: September 13, 2017. Nabeel Qureshi is a former Muslim who converted to Christianity and now fiercely defends the Christian faith as an apologist. Qureshi has been battling cancer and sadly, doctors now say he is in the “last stages of life.”
"The doctors have pretty much given up on treating me," Qureshi told followers in a Facebook video. "They think my body is in its final stages of life."
CBN News reports that Qureshi announced his cancer diagnosis last August. He has an aggressive form of stomach cancer.
Nabeel Qureshi aged 34 is an American Christian apologist and convert from Ahmadiyya Islam. He is a speaker with Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) and the author of three books.
Qureshi was born into a devout family of Ahmadi Muslims with his father in the US Navy, he moved around many times as a youth before settling in Virginia. Qureshi studied Islamic apologetics and engaged Christians in religious discussions. After one such discussion with a Christian at his university, David Wood, the two became friends and began a years-long debate on the historical claims of Christianity and Islam. Qureshi's resulting conversion to Christianity was chronicled in his first book, Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus.
“They have suggested palliative care. We are just doing comfort measures. Right now the doctors have decided no more calories for me, for a few days. If that means bad things happen, then bad things happen. It's looking pretty grim. I could really use your prayers," Qureshi said.
Qureshi is praying for a miracle and asking his followers to pray, but he also knows that, whatever happens, God is still in control. Even though his situation is dire, he is not giving up on his faith.
"If we want the Lord to come through and do a miracle, it needs to happen in the next few days. As you consider my ministry, I hope it leaves a message of love, of peace, of truth, of caring for one another. Our God is a God of love."
