Six more Sunni Muslims [of Pakistan based Tablighi Jama'at] were arrested in a "special operation" in the central city of Karaganda [Qaraghandy] on 30 October.
All six are being investigated on criminal charges of participation in the activities of the missionary movement Tabligh Jamaat, which was banned in Kazakhstan in 2013.
A court ordered that three of the accused be held in Investigation Prison. The other three had to sign statements that they would not leave the city.
Police, National Security Committee (KNB) secret police, court and prison officials refused to identify the individuals or discuss the cases with Forum 18.

In 2016 more than 14 missionaries of Tablighi Jamaat movement were convicted in Kazakhstan, the Kazinform News website had reported based upon the information from the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"As a rule, extremism groups are usually pretty good at concealing what they do from potential recruits," the National Security Committee told Kazinform.
It was further learned that two nationals of Kazakhstan had been detained by the Pakistani migration service after they were arrested in the Punjab town of Gujrat for violation of visa regime. The two men attended a Tablighi Jamaat-related institution in Raiwind, it was reported.
