Bangladesh: 4 Sunni Muslims held with bombs, books on jihad

'The suspects have connection with Jamaat-e-Islami'
Four people, arrested on charge of possessing bombs and books on jihad at Paikpara village in Fakirhat upazila under the district on Friday, were sent to jail through a court yesterday.
The arrestees are Abu Dawood Sheikh, 48, and Md Rafiqul Islam, 35, of Dhanpota, and Kabir Shikari, 38, and Mohammad Mahmud, 35, of Shatala village.
Police filed a case against them and produced them before the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court, which sent them to jail yesterday.
“Following a tip, the four people were detained from a house of Paikpara village on Friday. Three bombs and four books on jihad were recovered from there,” Fakirhat Police Station OC Mohammad Abu Zahid Sheikh said, adding that the arrestees have connection with Jamaat-e-Islami.
