THERE IS REAL TALK, AND THEN - THERE IS ‘REAL TALK’ | MTA.TV

Since the humble beginnings on August 21, 1992, Muslim Television Ahmadiyya International (MTA) has come a long way - very quickly.

In a large hall with many colorful chairs arranged in a contemporary layout, a neatly dressed young man walks into the video frame – turning his face to the right, he looks straight into the camera lens.

“Technology around us is moving at an amazing rate”, says the young man while walking with great confidence and a voice to match the style - he stares straight at you through the camera-lens. “With any online device I can connect with anyone around the world with the touch of a button.”

“But what impact does this have on our personal, social and even moral life”, asks the young man rhetorically as he settles into one of the chair in the hall. “Join me for real stories, real issues, and real views; this is ‘Real Talk’.”

This was the opening monologue of one of the Real Talk, a brand new talk show series started by Muslim Television Ahmadiyya International (MTA). The talk show discusses social issues for their younger audience.

A few weeks later he really touched some button and proved his point. It was surreal. Just as he had said it - he connected with Ahmadiyya Times when a sleepy mobile phone woke up and chimed. A short twitter ‘tweet’ appeared in the phone window announcing the next show topic. “Please tweet your followers about MTA_REALTALK. We will be talking about relevance of marriages on the next Real Talk.” And, boy, he had all the jargon right too, you know; with ‘tweet’ – and ‘followers’ – and limit of 120 characters, and all!

The program theme is provocative, so is the style, and the topics are no less provocative either.  It challenges the viewers to step-up to the plate and think, and participate, and think some more.  Every program looks at both sides of the story, discussing important current topics with a panel of experts.

Real Talk is a series which allows the viewers to take part remotely as well - by sending in their views on the topics discussed.

To stay up-to-date with Real Talk programs schedule and upcoming topics, one can sign up for a Twitter account and start to ‘follow’ MTA_REALTALK (twitter.com/MTA_REALTALK). And, whenever you get their ‘tweets’, you can forward those  to your followers too.

Muslim Television Ahmadiyya International broadcasts live programming to the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in 193 countries of the world. The programming is offered in several languages in variety of formats.  With such high levels of quality, variety, and quantity in its programming, MTA is the only television broadcaster of such size where entire production is achieved by an all-volunteers force consisting of all age groups across both genders.
