INDIA: THE 118TH AHMADIYYA MUSLIM JALSA SALANA [ANNUAL CONVENTION] UNDERWAY IN QADIAN

On the eve of the Jalsa, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Supreme Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in a live address from London through Jamaat’s own channel, advised the participants to spend the entire period in worship, piety and remembrance of Allah.

QUADIAN (India): The three-day annual Jalsa Qadian started with its usual fervor. The 118th Jalsa Salana of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community started with flag hoisting ceremony followed by the community prayer and recitation of the Holy Quran.

The initial address was delivered by Maulna Mohammed Inaam Ghori, Chief Secretary of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in India, highlighting the importance of the Jalsa. It is God’s plan, the Jalsa is continuing uninterrupted since 118 years", He said.

The second speech was delivered by Dr. Saleh Mohammed Aladin, president, Anjuman Ahmadiyya. Dr. Aladin spoke on Existence of God. Quoting from the Holy Quran, he explained the alternation of night and day and the creation of heavenly bodies, there are signs for those who ponder into it and proved this in the light of astronomical evidences.

The third speech by Maulana Karemuddin Shahid, was about the life of Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, founder of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat. HJazrat Ahamad established Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at as a reformist movement in Islam.

More than 20,000 devotes from all over India and abroad, including 5203 delegates from Pakistan, gathered in Qadian, in Gurdaspur district of Punjab, to participate in the three day long spiritual activities.

Each day starts with ‘Tahajud’ – a post midnight prayer continuing the upto the Fajar Namaz at dawn. The main Jalsa is divided into two sessions with a short interlude for afternoon prayers and ends in the evening again followed by further prayers. In the second session, Mohammed Inaam Ghori, Chief Secretary of the community in India, spoke on the Life of Prophet Mohammed in the light of his relationship with Allah. This was followed by speech by Muneer Ahmad Khadim on the topic of Importance of Khilafat’
