Ahmadiyya Times picked up the following interesting perspective in a letter written to the editor of Daily Times by a curious reader.

The ‘go-go’ mantra

Sir: A few days ago, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) held a ‘Go America Go’ rally in Rawalpindi. JI chief Munawwar Hasan declared that the Jamaat would continue with its anti-US movement and promote anti-American sentiment all over the country. With due respect, I would like to ask the JI chief whether he remembers that his very own party was under the patronage of the Americans during the Afghan jihad back in the 80s? With American dollars stuffed in its coffers, the JI had a heyday. So why all this hypocritical nonsense now?

Is it because the US is not funding the JI anymore and the mullahs are having dollar-withdrawal symptoms?
