Naseem Mahdi, Vice President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was in Sault Ste Marie Tuesday to facilitate an interfaith seminar hosted by St. Gregory's Church.
Mahdi travels the country conducting interfaith seminars and talking to people about the commonalities of the world religions. "We don't compare religions" Madhi told Soonews in an interview Tuesday afternoon, "We listen and learn"
Madhi points out that many of the world's religions share a number of commonalities and people should focus more on those commonalities and less on the differences.
Mahdi told Soonews that people are surprised to hear that the Quran recognizes Jesus as a prophet and that a chapter in the Islamic holy book is dedicated to Mary.
"The Quran does not condone violence." says Madhi and "Terrorists are not Muslims."
