I am writing this letter to relate my positive experience with U.S. Rep. Eric Massa, D-Corning, and his office. I am long-term resident of Corning. I was trying to help four kids back in Pakistan who were detained in jail because of their religious beliefs. (My family is originally from Pakistan).
These kids belonged to a minority religious community called Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam. Earlier this year, they were imprisoned because of some false accusations by miscreants in the district of Layyah, Pakistan.
Eric's office helped write letters to various officials at the U.S. State Department and the Commission for Human Rights. This work was done in a thorough and professional manner. The letters were written, signed and mailed by Eric and his staff. This campaign was very successful, as all the kids were later released from the prison.
I very much appreciate the help that was given by Eric and his staff. His staff workers in Corning were very pleasant and helpful. I am proud and honored to have Eric as our representative.
