The 86th Jalsa Salana (Annual Convention) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Bangladesh will start on Friday, February 5, 2010
According the information released by the community’s Press Secretary and Coordinator, Ahmad Tabshir Choudhury in Dhaka, Bangladesh, the three day event will commence with the Friday prayers and the inaugural ceremonies will take place around 3:00 PM local time, [9:00 AM GMT].
The event expects representatives from several international destinations such as Rabwah, UK, USA, and India, among others.
A special session, participated by distinguished dignitaries and non-community guests is scheduled for Saturday, February 6th afternoon. A Bosnian Ahmadi Muslim will speak in the session to highlight ‘The Contribution of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at towards distressed Bosnian Muslims during the Crisis.’
In the final session on Sunday at approximately 10:30 GMT (to be confirmed), Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will address the gathering. Hadhrat Ahmad, who resides in London, will deliver his address live via a satellite video hook-up and the proceedings will be broadcast live by Muslim Television Ahmadiyya International for the worldwide audience in 193 countries.
The entire proceedings of the Annual Convention of Bangladesh will be webcast live through www.ahmadiyyabangla.org, which shall serve as a web based video streaming arm of the Muslim Telivision Ahmadiyya International for the event.
Anyone wishing to participate may request an invitation irrespective of his or her religion, nationality or ethnicity.
