Southern California: Dinner to raise funds for Haiti relief efforts

Since its registration with IRS in 2004, Humanity First has been focused on spending most of the raised funds on direct program related expenses. As a result, more than 90% of its funds are in that expense category. This is achieved through dedicated volunteers in its management, and program operation teams.

The relief organization Humanity First USA is holding a Haiti-relief fundraising dinner Friday in Rancho Cucamonga.

The dinner is from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Goldy Lewis Community Center, 11200 Baseline Road. Tickets cost $100. Money will be used to help victims of the Haiti earthquake.

Many of the Inland volunteers with the nonsectarian Humanity First are members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, which has a mosque in Chino, said Shamshad A. Nasir, the imam of the Chino mosque - the Bait-ul Hameed Mosque - and an organizer of Friday's dinner.

Ahmadiyya Times caught  up with the all-volunteer event organizers team during their final meeting on March 3rd. evening.  This was their final brain-storming session, as well as to review the details of the Friday program.

Dr. Waseem Sayed, the chief organizer of the SoCal 'Dine for Humanity' event, expressed his satisfaction with the arrangemnts for the big evening on Friday.

"It is utterly amazing how much work Humanity First volunteers are being blessed to do by God's Grace and Mercy," remarked Dr. Sayed after their meeting.
